How It Works
What happens when I call While You Were Out Pet Sitting, Inc.?
In the initial phone call you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about our service. I try to answer the phone but if I am unavailable, I will return your call or respond to your e-mail within the next few hours. I will also ask you about yourself and your pet(s) and the customized care you desire as well as the dates you will need our service. After this, I can email you a estimate for your desired services. When you are ready, we will then set up an appointment for a meet and greet with you and your pet.
What happens at the meet and greet?
When we meet you and your pet, we will go over all your procedures to be followed to insure this is a good experience for you as well as for your pet. We will also need to see proof of vaccination at this time for all pets. When you decide that we are a good match for you and your pet, we will then draw up a pet sitting agreement. You will also be given a copy of our insurance and bonding certificates for your verification.
We strongly advise our clients to "trust but verify" as you would when hiring any service professional who will enter your home. References are also supplied upon request. Of course, there is no charge for this initial meeting whether you decide to use our services or not.
What will happen on the first pet visit?
On the first pet visit, we will follow your instructions to care for your pet and stick to the pets routine. Walking, feeding, playing, litter box cleaning, or even singing to your pet just the way you do when you are there. Do not be embarrassed to request us to cook, cuddle, or do what you normally do for your pet. This is what makes it work and makes it less stressful for your pet. Although we have met your pet at the meet and greet, we will get to know them a little better as well as letting them get more familiar with us. I am sure we will be great friends in no time at all!
How will I know when I am gone that all is well?
We communicate with our pet owners every visit in whatever manner they choose. If you prefer a phone call or text message after each visit, we can do that. Some regular customers prefer that we leave a daily note and only call or text message when there is a question or problem. We believe that communication is the key to success in this business.
Will my dog be walked in a group or alone?
When we are with your pet(s) they will have our undivided attention. We do not walk your dog with other clients' dogs. We believe that this is not only risky but dangerous for the dogs and us. If you own two dogs that you normally walk together, then we will walk them together. Yes, we can even walk cats too!
Will I always have the same pet sitter?
Yes. The pet sitter that you meet is the pet sitter that will be entering your home and caring for your pet(s). We will never let another person in your home without your approval.
We accept Cash, Personal Checks, Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express and debt cards. We can arrange bi-weekly or monthly invoicing for our regular customers. Arrangements will be made in advance.
